Why is the C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum
needed?
Learning outcomes in India are abysmal; 81% of Indian students leave school without the foundational skills they need to succeed at work or to pursue higher education. This is, of course, a major problem for our society: it means we're failing to teach young people the skills they need to get good jobs, support themselves and contribute meaningfully to their communities, families and society at large.
The problem with traditional learning methods
While syllabi across the country are changing, most schools still rely heavily on rote-based learning, an outdated teaching method based on repetition and memorisation. Sadly, using rote-based learning for even the most basic topics does not allow students to truly grasp the concepts they're taught. Without developing any creative thinking skills, they will never be able to form a connection between old and new knowledge or even arrive at original conclusions.
How the C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum can help
The C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum offers the entire spectrum of learning resources at the same price point as textbooks sold by traditional publishers, making it an affordable solution attainable by students.
Comprehensive teacher resources are included to guide teachers through every detail of the C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum and ensure that their lessons provide authentic and meaningful learning opportunities.
Teachers also have access to professional development workshops and regular lesson observations at no additional cost.
Empowering students to succeed
Students should be able to connect what they learn in school with the world around them. We've made this connection possible by curating learning activities that allow students to see how the concepts relate to their lives, interests and experiences. Students may analyse and synthesise the material while building crucial creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Inculcating these skills at primary school level will give students a valuable advantage over their peers, as they advance to secondary and tertiary education and eventually join the workforce.

Equipping teachers to deliver impactful lessons
We believe that by investing in our teachers, we're doing our part to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators. As they prepare to teach the C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum, teachers will gain access to a wide range of innovative teaching resources, from the latest educational innovations to effective pedagogy. By providing teachers with tools designed to accurately evaluate their students' progress, both academically and socially, we are equipping them to evaluate the effectiveness of student learning and ensure that each student grows in all areas of development, at their own pace, according to their innate potential.

Aligning schools with the revolutionary ideals of the NEP
In July 2020, the Union Cabinet approved the National Education Policy, or NEP, which aims to universalise education in India from preschool to grade 12. The NEP seeks to replace rote learning with context-based learning and to improve test scores by implementing a holistic learning curriculum. The NEP has been designed to focus on research-backed pedagogy to help every child leave school literate and socially skilled. It requires teachers of all subjects to equip their students with the skills they need to become independent learners and confident communicators. In time, all schools will be mandated to support and upskill their educators as they bring their teaching resources and practices in alignment with the guidelines set out by the NEP. Mahattattva has developed the first-ever skills-based curriculum that combines elements of our own research and development with key focus areas from the NEP to deliver a more engaging and relevant learning experience for students across India. Our continuous professional development programme is designed to engage teachers of all levels and empower them to effectively teach their students using the innovative methods and tools provided in the curriculum. In doing so, we make it easy and affordable for all schools to meet the goals set out by the NEP.

What sets the C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum apart?
We've taken the best practices of educational models used around the world and combined them with our own research to create a curriculum that engages and empowers students.
It is designed to prepare students for the future with multiple tools, including STREAMS, Design Thinking, Project Based Learning, Deeper Learning, Global Awareness, and Computational Thinking. These models and strategies help students become successful in both higher education and the workforce.
Our curriculum equips teachers to be impactful facilitators through enhancement of skills, utilisation of technology and understanding of progressive pedagogies.
The numbers speak for themselves
When compared to a control group, students who participated in the C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum for one year, scored significantly higher in baseline assessments to measure skills. C.R.E.A.T.E. Curriculum participants demonstrated remarkably higher aptitudes in numeracy, literacy, gross and fine motor skills and cognitive development. Their social and emotional intelligence skills also showed visible enhancement.
